Week 9

We said our farewells to Hilary this week as she set out to travel the world. Her last day was Thursday and she treated us to ice-cream cones after lunch. I was so proud of her for participating in the x-country, knowing she could not make it into the school team because she would be away. She did so well by running all the way. In fact I was so proud of all our tamariki, not one of them developed x-countryitis.

Autumn has certainly taken a hold on the temperature in the morning making for a chilly start most mornings, which is a reminder to wrap up warm and then when it does warm up, to put sweat shirts, polar fleeces etc into our school bags to take home again for the next morning.

We started math interchange for Year 5/6 tamariki this week. I know our tamariki enjoy working with the children in mainstream and with other teachers. Subtraction and addition problems is the focus for the rest of the term and working on smart ways to find solutions.

This Tuesday is Class and Individual Photo Day. Tamariki are asked to wear the correct school uniform and a big smile.

Matua Te Haere will be the class teacher on Monday while I will be assessing the Year 3 tamariki and preparing for our Goal Setting Meetings Tuesday and Wednesday.
