Quake

Tena koutou katoa
I'm hoping everyone is well and safe where ever you are. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I am looking forward to meeting up with you all when kura opens up again.
Watch out for notices from Mrs Warren on the school website.
My daughter Laine and I are on Waiheke Island (Auckland) being looked after, with much aroha, by my big brother. We managed to get a flight out on Thursday morning and will be returning next week.
Take care

week 3

Hi, My name is Serene and I am the class Rangatira for week 3.
This week we have been going to Aquagym with room 24 each day after Paramawana, we didn't get back to school until Wa Kai. We practiced freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke so we will ready our swimming sport next week on Tuesday.
Also this week we did our Reading and Maths asTTle testing. I think we all did really well because this is the second time we have been tested on the computers with Mrs Warren, we did it for the first time last year. Today was our first day at Friday afternoon sports.
Hilary is in the cricket team and they won against Fendalton 73-11. They played at our school.
Tyreice is the captain of the A Softball team and Jacob, Serene, Sofia and Tanesha are in the second team. They went to Hagley Park to play.
The rest of the children stayed at school for Jump Jam and then played either Touch Rugby, Padder Tennis, Cricket or Scatter Ball for the afternoon.
Have a good weekend.

Week 2

Hi, I have been Rangatira O te wiki in Akomanga tahi so I get to write this weeks blog.
We have had lots of testing this week; spelling, math and writing and Whaea Mary will be testing our reading next week as well as more math.
We are sugar free and lunch wrapper free in our class.
This week we have been learning how to make bar graphs during maths statistical research and we have been learning a lot about Brain Gym. Brain Gym is when you turn on both sides of your brain by crossing over your meridian line which helps us to learn better.
A part of our daily routine is to do Wizz Words and Word Builder. We have to think of as many 3 or more letter words as we can, and Wizz Words are words puzzles like BITTEN, SHY SHY.
Today was the day we had Hui hui nga tamariki. We gave out certificates from Akomanga 3, Ngaru Hepe, from Akomanga 2 was Kayleb Hunter, Storm Reeves and Marama Gray, from Akomanga 1 was Waimarie Wilson- Griffiths, Zyan Gillies and Tyreice Tuliau.
Have a great weekend.
