Monday - Week 7

It has been so good seeing the tamariki returning to our class.
For the first 2 days TTRR joined together for some fun activities.
We did some 'Seismic Art', shared stories, sang waiata, did our fitness together and shared lunch.

On the Friday morning, Whaea Maria shared her fried bread making skills with us. Very yum. The children had fun shaping a piece of dough to fry. We then made pop-corn and wrote about it.
After that a group called 'Funky Monkey' from Auckland came to entertain the children. We just had enough time to assemble some sushi to eat with our lunch.

This morning Room 2 have come in to join us for the day and work alongside us.

Quake

Tena Koutou

Laine and I arrived back in Christchurch late this afternoon. We had such a wonderful time soothing our souls on Palm Beach, Waiheke Island, and being looked after so well. I hope you and your whanau are looking after each other.

Remember to do some school work if you can while you are at home. Keep up with reading and maths. Check out the school web page for math and reading activities you are able to do. Keep a journal of what you have been doing while kura is closed so we can share it when we get back together or you can e-mail me mary.brunton@stalbans.school.nz to let me know what you are up to.

Look after each other. Missing you all heaps.
Much love
Whaea Mary
