Rugby Tournament

Today the Year 5/6 School Rugby A Team went to South Hagley to play in the North-East Zone Winter  sports tournament.
We arrived at 9:30 and had a snack before played our first game. We played against Banks Ave A and .
lost 4 tries to 1. We put up a great efort but in the end they were just too good.

Our next game was against Burwood B.  We won that game 7 tries to nil, we put on a great performance for a good win.

We also won our third game by quite a lot,  the score was 8-0 it was a splendid show of solid defence and strong attack.

The fourth game didn't go as well as our third game but we still gave it a good crack against Windsor. They held on great and pushed a win against us 4-1.

Our only chance of heading to the Canterbury tournament relied on our last game against Burwood A. They scored 3 early tries in the first half but we held them down to 1 try in the second half. In the end they were too strong for us and ran away with the win 4-0.

We came to have fun, and we succeeded in that.  Our second task to win the tournament was close but it was taken fairly by Burwood A.

After a great day of footy it was great to cool down with a game of touch. Even without the big win we had a fun day playing footy.

The player of the day went to cullum who played awesome.

Museum Visit

Matua Anthony came to school today from the Museum to share some of the taonga they have there. We learnt about the technology used by early Maori.

We had a turn with some of the tools Matua brought  from the Museum.

SNOW DAY

Stay warm and safe today.

How about a snowman competition.

Get your whanau involved in building a tumeke snowman, take photos and we'll post them on our blog.

Have fun in the snow, take lots of photos and also do some writing about how you and your whanau spent today in the snow.  We can share when we get back together.
